The TriBike Transport Experience

With TriBike Transport, you can drop off your bike and an extra bag of gear (optional) at one of our partner bike shops a few days before you leave for your Ironman. You may also have it tuned up by the shop*, and we will take care of everything from there. We will take your bike, carefully load it securely, fully assembled, on one our trucks, drive it to your race, unload it and have it ready for you to pick up, ready to ride, at your destination.

Your bike will never leave our possession until we give it back to you in person for your race. You can pick it up and ride it immediately, in the comfort of knowing that all nuts and bolts are tight and adjustments are as they were when you gave it to us back home.

For a small additional fee, we can also take an additional bag (max. 25 lbs), with other gear, such as your helmet, bike shoes, water bottles, wetsuit, CO 2 cartridges (which you can't bring with you on the airlines).

Once you've completed your race, you can walk your bike over to our location directly from the transition area, hand us your bike and we'll take care of it from there. You enjoy your Ironman accomplishment while we load it and have back at your local shop to be picked after your return.

The fee for the entire service is similar or less than your current total cost for bringing your bike with you on the airlines: $240 for the bike and $25 for an additional bag.

Due to the 50-60% cost increase of diesel fuel, we have reluctantly increased our base price from $225 to $240. Our commitment to provide the most convenient, hassle-free TriBike Transport with the highest quality of service at the most reasonable price continues.

Service Comparison

The Airlines:

With the airlines, you must:

  1. Dismantle your bike or pay a shop to do it (about $35 each way, $70 total)
  2. Squeeze it into a bike box ($300-400, $50 rental) and haul it to the airport along with all your gear
  3. Hand it to airlines (up to $100 each way, $200 total), hope it will make it to your destination on time and in one piece
  4. Rent a minivan or SUV instead of a car (additional $20+/day) to carry it to your hotel or local shop, unpack and reassemble it or have a shop do it (about $35 each way, $70 total), and hope all bolts are properly tightened and adjustments are still intact

All this, just when all you want to do is rest and focus on being ready for your event.

You then must repeat the entire process for the trip home after the race.

Total cost: minimum $200, up to $450+

"This service was really fantastic, ... because you don't have to disassemble and reassemble your bike. Also, you don't have to lug your gigantic heavy bike box around which is hard!" - Katie - More-->
